Kukke Subrahmanya Temple is a famous Muruga temple located in Dakshina Kannada district of Karnataka, India. The primary deity is Kartikeya worshipped as Subramanya, lord of all serpents. Here pooja is offered to lord Subrahmanya merged with serpent King Vasuki. Hence the temple is regarded as a place to get salvation from any sort of Sarpa or Naga Doshas. Thousands of devotees come here from far and wide to offer Sarpa Samskara, Nagaprathishta, Ashlesha Bali and other rituals.
Kukke Temple is situated in the heart of Subrahmanya village in the Sullia Taluk. The main entrance of the temple lies to the east. Shankaracharya referred to this place as ‘Bhaje Kukke Lingam’ in his ‘Subrahmanya Bhujangaprayata Stotram’. To the west of inner sanctum there is a cluster of Lingas known as Kukke Lingas. Kala Bairava shrine is located at the southern side of the inner sanctum. Other deities worshiped here include Umamaheshwara, Soorya (Sun God), Ambika (Devi), Vishnu, Ganapathi and Hosoligamma.
