The Shiva Murugan Temple is located at Concord in California, United States. The temples is dedicated to Lord Shiva and his son Lord Muruga. The temple also has separate shrine for Lord Ganesha. The temple was founded on the traditions of Saiva Siddhanta and known as the Palaniswami Sivan Temple. Shiva Murugan Temple was established in 1957 in a small wood framed house in San Francisco, California. The temple was founded by Sivaya SubramuniyaSwami, an American born Hindu guru. The temple is regarded as one of the first Hindu Temples in the United States that was beyond the scope of the various Vedanta centres that existed at that time.
Monday to Friday: 10:00 am to 12:00 Noon and 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm
Weekends and Festival: 10:00 am to 9:00 pm
Mahashivaratri, Thai Pooyam and Navaratri are the main festival celebrated at the temple. During Thai Poosam Festival the temple organizes Kaavadi and Paal Kudam procession celebrations.
