Thiru Anbil or Sundararaja Perumal Temple also called Vadivazhagiya Nambi Perumal Temple in Jangamarajapuram, Tiruchirappalli,Tamil Nadu, is dedicated to the Hindu god Vishnu.


Sundararaja Perumal Temple, situated in Thiruvallur, Tamil Nadu, is a highly esteemed shrine dedicated to Lord Vishnu. This historic temple, which dates back to the 8th century CE, is recognized as one of the 108 Divyadesams, sacred sites cherished by the Sri Vaishnava community. It is believed that the temple was constructed by the Pallava king Narasimhavarman II, a devoted follower of Lord Vishnu.

The architecture of the temple exemplifies the exquisite Dravidian style, featuring elaborate carvings and sculptures that embellish its walls. The main sanctum enshrines a magnificent idol of Lord Vishnu, referred to as Sundararaja Perumal, flanked by his consorts, Goddess Lakshmi and Goddess Satyabhama. Additionally, the temple holds significance due to its connection with the Alvars, a group of twelve poet-saints who extolled the virtues of Lord Vishnu.

According to tradition, the revered saint Andal is said to have visited the temple, where she composed numerous hymns in honor of Lord Vishnu. The temple hosts a variety of festivals throughout the year, with the annual Brahmotsavam being a highlight, celebrating the union of Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi.
