Hara Saabha Vimochana Perumal Temple, located in Thirukandiyur near Thiruvayaru in Tamil Nadu, is a shrine dedicated to the Hindu god Vishnu. Built in the classic Dravidian architectural style, this temple is celebrated in the Nalayira Divya Prabandham, a significant Tamil scripture from the 6th to 9th centuries, penned by the Alvar saints. It's one of the 108 Divya Desams devoted to Vishnu, who is revered here as Hara Saabha Vimochana Perumal, with his consort Lakshmi known as Kamalavalli Nachiyar.
The temple is thought to have been established by the Medieval Cholas in the late 8th century, with later enhancements from the Vijayanagara kings and the Madurai Nayaks. A sturdy granite wall encircles the temple, encompassing its various shrines and water bodies. The temple features a striking 5-tiered rajagopuram, which serves as its main entrance.
Hara Saabha Vimochana Perumal is said to have manifested before the Hindu deities Brahma and Shiva, as well as King Mahabali. It's one of the rare temples where the Trimurti—Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva—are all worshipped together. The temple hosts six daily rituals and four major festivals each year, with the Panguni Brahmostavam, celebrated in the Tamil month of Panguni (April–May), being the highlight. The temple is overseen by the Hindu Religious and Endowment Board of the Tamil Nadu government.
